AimForTheBrain Says: I saw a Level 1 Orc Mage in trade moaning at the people who killed his Alliance character in Orgrimmar. I mention the fact that since he was in Orgrimmar to begin with, that gave people permission to kill him, as his PvP would have went on. A few moments later, I get a whisper from Mennikäine saying that I’m a retard.
I don’t have screenshots of the resulting conversation, but all it involved was him calling me names – simply for stating the obvious. I assume that he must be a friend of the Orc Mage, as why else would he react in this way? Unless he just felt like starting shit.
I tell Geo about what happened, and he found it funny. He also moaned at me for not getting screenshots.
GeodesicDragon Says: A few moments later, I decide to take Holiestcow through some Cataclysm heroics for Justice Points, and maybe complete part of the achievement while I’m at it.
Rather than use the Dungeon Finder, I decide to ask in Trade for a group. So I put an ad out saying ’373 Prot Pala LFG Glory of the Cataclysm Raider’.
Almost immediately, Mennikäine invites me to a group. Turns out he and a few others are doing the same thing, and they just need a tank to get started.
Given his attitude towards Aim earlier, I decide to tell him that I won’t be helping his group. What follows is a classic example of ignorance.
When he did the :/ emoticon – I thought he knew who I was on about.

Oh look, he’s making things up. Notice how he is saying ‘my sisters boyfriend’. This is important, and we’ll see why later.

So first he said ‘the guy that ignored me’, like he knew who I was referring to, and now he’s saying that I’m confusing him for someone else? Which is it?

For the record, here is the RealID message Aim sent me, telling me about what he’d said.

Look through these screenshots. Have I mentioned dueling? No, I haven’t. So where he got that idea from is a mystery to me.

You’ll have noticed that Aim said he could have been a ‘friend of said noob’. I realise now that this is the case. However, it doesn’t excuse the way he he spoke to Aim.

Ah, see how he’s saying ‘I have no Alliance char and no friends on Alliance side’? Well, what about his sister’s boyfriend? It was his character flying through Orgrimmar (and dying) that started all of this. So either you’re talking bollocks, or you decided to stick up for a random stranger. How very noble of you.

He’s beginning to get defensive. So I must be right.

This is when I realised that he wasn’t the Orc Mage who was whining in Trade about getting his ass handed to him.

Maybe if I quote Aim’s message to me, it will jog his memory?

Nope, he’s still denying it.

With an attitude like his, I’d be amazed if he had any friends at all.

Oh, now he’s getting offensive. And he called me the same names he called Aim. Looks like I was right all along.

And that was it. I know he was lying to me, as Aim wouldn’t make up something like this. And you readers should know by now that we don’t make up anything here at IoW.
By the way, I had this whisper in another tab. It doesn’t tell me when someone is ignoring you, so that’s why it appears twice.
In conclusion, Mennikäine was trying to avoid facing the consequences of what he had done. Those consequences being giving Aim an apology. But he refused to admit it, and tried to fob me off with that bullshit about mistaking him for someone else.
And when that didn’t work, he simply went back to what he knew best – being a complete and total dickhead.
To think, all of this started simply because Aim pointed out a simple and well-known fact – if you fly through an enemy capital city, you are giving everyone permission to kill you. And if you can’t accept that, don’t do it!
