FFS, It Was A Bug!

UPDATE (April 24th 2012): I contacted Blizzard about this, and they told me that Divine Shield drops your aggro when used. This explains why Murozond attacked someone else when I used it. However, the tooltip for Divine Shield doesn’t mention the threat drop. So this post still stands, as that (to me) is still a bug.

I was doing End Time with Holiestcow, and my group was just about to engage Murozond. Before that, however, we had killed the two packs of Infinite Dragonkin in the area. The Hunter of the group, Groxxie, was a Leatherworker, so she kept asking people to loot their kills so she could skin them.

She asked the Mage of the group to loot his kill. Then she said ‘idiot’. By this time, I had started the fight with Murozond. I thought she was referring to the Mage for not looting the body, but just to be sure, I asked…

Oh, she was calling ME an idiot. Why? Because I started the encounter. Nobody told me to wait, so how attacking the boss when everyone was clearly ready makes me an idiot is a mystery.

A while later, we used the Hourglass. Everything was reset. Including, for some reason, Murozond’s hate table. He immediately started attacking the Death Knight in our group, Ferventi, who died.

Naturally, I got the blame.

I don’t know why this happened, but I can confirm that I did indeed have over 200% aggro on the boss. Because the same thing happened again the next time we used the hourglass. This time, Murozond went after Groxxie.

This screenshot proves my point. You can clearly see that Groxxie is the target, yet I have 247% threat. Groxxie didn’t use Distracting Shot, either.

My point is this. When something goes wrong in an instance, people are always quick to blame someone, such as the tank or healer. But in this case, it wasn’t my fault that Ferventi died. It was Blizzard’s.

I looked at a list of Murozond’s abilities, and not one of them mentioned resetting his hate list. So I believe that this is a bug.

Anyway, I hope that Groxxie and Ferventi see this and realise that they both owe me an apology. People really need to learn that not everything that happens is the tank’s fault, or the healer’s. Usually, the person complaining is the one responsible for the wipe, and they’re just trying to dispel blame onto some other poor sod.

If everyone just accepted responsibility for their own actions, this world could be a much better place to live in.

  1. Possibly the hunters pet messing up the threat table with it’s growl.

Also. I don’t see any threat table on your screenie, only recount
