Why CRZ Has Got To Go

I’m sure you’ve all noticed the increased numbers of players running around in some zones?  This is Blizzard’s new Cross Realm Zones (CRZ) feature. Put simply, it allows you to play with people from other realms in the game world.

Quite frankly, I fucking hate it. And here’s three reasons why:

1) Too many people doing the same quests.

With CRZ, many low level zones have had a population increase. This means you have more people competing with you for quest mobs and items. Aim and I were doing a quest in Swamp of Sorrows the other day – one that before CRZ would have taken us just five minutes to complete. We were waiting fifteen minutes for the mobs we needed to spawn.

If Blizzard are serious about CRZs, they should increase the spawn rates. That way, you don’t get a bunch of people standing around like idiots waiting on things to respawn.

2) Increased competition for gatherers.

Navitas is a Miner and a Herbalist by trade. But CRZ means she now finds herself competing with more people to get those all important nodes. With the release of Mists of Pandaria imminent, I’m doing a bit more farming. But naturally, CRZ makes it that little bit harder – and much more annoying.

3) Increased number of egomaniacs.

CRZ, at least on Shadowsong, has led to an increase in the number of people dueling outside Stormwind. And where there’s duels, there’s the occasional egomaniac boasting about beating someone. This was bad enough before CRZ came along. But now, it’s a hell of a lot worse. Thank fuck I have DuelResponse.

It’s for these three reasons that I think CRZ should only be limited to higher level zones, where the challenge is actually greater – or removed completely.

A lot of people are all for CRZ, but some of us, myself included, wish it would go back to how it was.

I’m done now, but I’ll leave you with this: These are my opinions, and I’m entitled to them. If you want to counter my argument, feel free. Just don’t be a dick about it.

Swiftbow’s Revenge … NOT

Now that Navitas is a Tauren, I had to sneak through Stormwind in order to do a Stockades run for cloth. On my way out, I decide to kill a few NPCs, given that most of the Alliance players would have been in school.

I kill the gnomish toy vendor and those three mages who wander around talking about how to make a love potion. Naturally, that spawns a guard, so I kill him too.

Sadly, all this death attracted the attention of Swiftbow, who was flying overhead. Naturally, since it was me, he felt the need to attack, as did some Level 70 Mage called Marian (I hate it when low levels do that).

As I am about to attack Swiftbow, Officer Pomeroy – a Level 85 Elite guard – starts attacking me as well. Given that I had lost some health fighting the first guard, I was weak. Not to mention promptly killed.

I accepted a graveyard res, and hearthed back to Orgrimmar. All the time, I was expecting Swiftbow to log on to (or even create) a Horde character and gloat about killing me.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Swifty, but you DIDN’T.

As you can see from my Combat Log, it was Pomeroy who landed the killing blow. I know this because of the Overkill figure. He obviously hit me for more health than I had, which meant that I died.

So it looks like Swiftbow … wasn’t swift enough.

False Accusations III

This incident happened on May 29th, 2012. I didn’t have time to type it up until now, as I have been on a First Aid course for the last couple of days.

This is a two-author story. If a screenshot only has one set of commentary underneath it, then it’s from Geo, as this happened on one of his characters.

I was in Goldshire on Navitas, getting smashed. As you know, when you get tipsy, drunk or smashed on booze, everyone nearby knows about it. So imagine my surprise a Worgen Hunter named Swiftbow decides to use this information to launch an unprovoked verbal assault against me.

Aim Says: I had literally just logged in when I saw this guy start his crap. At first I thought Geo had done a random with Swiftbow (who we will now refer to as ‘Swift’), but when I saw him ask ‘Who are you?’ I realised that this wasn’t the case. So, I stepped in to defend Geo. After all, he’d do the same for me … I hope.

Geo Says: This was the second time I had been falsely accused of something in a week. I was gobsmacked, to say the least. Rather than stick him on ignore, I decided to stick around and see where this went.

Geo Says: Either he’s a kid who refers to his mum as his ‘Mrs’ (for whatever reason), or he’s an adult who doesn’t know how to turn off the Mature Language Filter. I certainly didn’t mouth off at said ‘Mrs’, but I’ll mouth off at this guy for making up stories.

Aim Says: He’s accusing Geo of mouthing off … by doing it himself. Hypocrite.

Notice how he’s not presenting his evidence? I lost count of how many times I asked him to present it to me.

Aim Says: I realise now that he never answered my question.

Geo Says: Logs can be faked.

Aim Says: Ataxiaqt … we’ll  get back to him later.

Geo Says: Ataxiaqt (hereafter referred to as ‘Ataxia’) butted in and told us all to ‘shut the fuck up and take it to whisper’. When Aim suggested he use /ignore, Ataxia called him an ‘ignorant n****r’. I reported him for this, and the offending chat was removed from my chat log. That’s why you can’t see it.

Why did I even take this screenshot? Oh yeah, to show the ‘Complaint Registered’ message. Now you can be sure I reported someone. But at least Swiftbow had shut up.

Geo Says: Damn, I guess not.

Aim Says: Am I right, or am I right?

Yeah, and I’m still waiting on that proof, mate.

I decided to kill myself to sober up quicker. Once again, I bring up the ‘no evidence’ argument. Once again, Swift ignores it.

Aim Says: He’s only making himself look like an idiot. Accusing Geo of insulting his ‘Mrs’, and yet here he is, calling Geo names.

Geo Says: Aim is right. I hardly ever go to Goldshire, so if I had insulted his ‘Mrs’, I would have still been in Stormwind.

I finally decide that I’ve had enough of this bullshit and decide to offer one final argument in my own defence. An argument which, I hope, will shut him up.

Naviitas. Navvitas, Navitaas, Navitass, Navtas … the list goes on. ‘Navtas’ is especially easy to confuse with ‘Navitas’, as you can hardly see the ‘i’ on ‘Navitas’.

A few minutes after I present this argument, ‘lol’ is the only reply I’ve received from Swift. I take this to mean that he’s either put me on ignore, or he has run out of insults. I’m going to assume the latter.

And that’s that. However, I’m not done yet. Remember Ataxia?

Well, after this was done, he was still spouting crap at Aim. He had already contacted Aim from two different characters. He then denied this when Aim asked him about it. I didn’t bother taking screenshots, as the only words Ataxia seemed to have in his vocabulary were ‘ignorant’, ‘faggot’ and ‘dick’.

Anyway, I’m done now. I hope Swift sees this and realises how much of a dickhead he was to me. And even if he does present evidence, I’m 99% sure it will have been fabricated.

Because any fool can create a character.

Take Your Macros Elsewhere!

I was watching a duel outside Orgrimmar between a Death Knight and a Druid. Every time the DK did something, he said something to go along with it. For example, if he used Death Grip, he would say “Get over here!” or “Come here!”.

His constant macro spam annoyed the hell out of me. Then he told everyone that it wasn’t a macro, it was an addon. This annoyed me even more. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for people doing this sort of thing on an RP server. But given that the server I play on isn’t an RP server … they really should cut it out. If they want to use macros, they should play on an RP server.

I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to be bombarded with that shit while I’m trying to use Guild Chat. Delete the macros, disable the addon or fuck off to an RP realm.

Thank you!
