False Accusations IV

Geo Says: Aim and I have our own bank guild, which we use to make money for all of our characters. On June 16th, we sold our Level 14 guild with four bank tabs, and swapped it for a Level 15 guild with six bank tabs.

Aim Says: This new guild, Incubus, was currently owned by someone I had as a friend on Real ID. She told me that she was wanting to join the guild that Incubus was merging with, but was unable to do so, as she couldn’t disband it, and the original Guild Master had quit playing WoW. I offered to take it off her hands, provided I could turn it into Geo and I’s new bank guild. She agreed (on the condition that her characters stay), and I was made the new Guild Master.

We kicked everyone out and demoted my friend’s characters so they couldn’t see what we had in the vaults, nor interfere with the gold we had earned.

Two days later (June 18th), the original Guild Master of Incubus logs in, and asks what is going on. I notice that she has joined the guild that Incubus was merging with. I tell her what my friend told me, and she says that she didn’t quit, she was only ‘taking a break’. She then demands that I give her back control of Incubus, or ‘the shit will hit the fan’ (seriously, that’s what she said).

Geo Says: Aim tells me what is happening. Quite frankly, I get annoyed. She gave Aim’s friend control of Incubus when she joined the merger guild. Therefore, I feel that she has no right to try and reassert her ownership.

However, to avoid getting the Game Masters involved, Aim agrees to give back control. Before he does, however, we set about emptying all six tabs of our stock. I take all our gold and leave it safe with Navitas.

After checking to make sure we have everything, Aim gives control of the guild back to the owner. We then leave and decide to form a new bank guild. We could have bought back our old guild, but  I decided that wouldn’t have been fair on the new owner.

Half an hour passes, and we are one signature away from forming ‘The Hoard’ (see what we did there?). This is where the shit hits the fan. But it’s not the old/new owner of Incubus. It’s one of her guild members:

Basically, I am being accused of stealing my own gold. I would like to stress that there was only 40 silver in the Incubus guild bank when Aim and I took over (which was from Cash Flow). I tell this idiot that all he has to do is look at the Money Log, and it will prove me correct. But he still insists that I’m a thief.

Fine, report me if you want. But I’m pretty sure the Game Masters also have a record of guild bank money transactions. So they won’t do anything.

He still hasn’t checked the Money Log. It only takes a few seconds, so do it already.

Maybe if I name all the characters from the Money Log, he will see that I am telling the truth. And I know I am swearing a lot. But come on! The guy accused me of theft, so I’m pissed off. And when I’m pissed off, I swear a lot.

I finally noticed that he hadn’t been replying to me. I check my General chat tab (since this conversation was in a seperate window), and I see that he’s not ignoring me. Maybe he’s checking the Money Log?

All I said was ‘fucking’. There’s a Mature Language Filter in the Options menu, mate. I suggest you fucking use it.

Needless to say, he put me on ignore after this. I hope he does report me. And I hope the GMs laugh at him. The evidence that I’m innocent is right in front of him, but he refuses to see it. And as for my language. Again – Mature Language Filter. USE IT.

I realise that I need evidence to back up my innocence, so I log out of Navitas, and log into Luxxor, my Rogue – who was also a member of Incubus while it was our bank guild. I pretend to be someone else and get an invite back. I then take this screenshot of the Money Log, which proves without any doubt that the gold I took did indeed belong to Aim and I:

As you can see, Luxxoria (my Mage) deposited 41,711 gold. Conspiracy (Aim’s Death Knight) deposited 10,000 gold – bringing us to 51,711 gold. There then follows a series of deposits and withdrawals (but mostly deposits), which leaves us with the 59,342 gold I took out on Navitas.

An hour later, I contact Guthans. By this time he has taken me off ignore. I ask him if he is going to apologise for accusing me of stealing. He does. However, he also tells me that he only whispered me because someone  from Incubus told him to.

If this is the case, I refuse to accept his apology on the grounds that he didn’t check the facts first. If I was him and someone told me to do the same, I would have checked the Money Log first and seen that nothing was wrong. If Guthans had taken a second or two to do this, I wouldn’t be typing this up.

Aim Says: As for my Real ID friend, the one who pretty much started all of this … we’re not friends any more. If it wasn’t for her giving me that dodgy information regarding the status of Incubus’ old Guild Master, none of this would have happened.

False Accusations

This post is filed under ‘Guild’ because it is the result of a conversation I had with one of the officers in the guild Navitas is a member of.

I was hanging around Stormwind on my Druid, Navitas, when one of the officers whispered me. I’ve blanked out her name in order to protect her identity.

Anyway, she told me that someone from outside our guild had contacted her about something I had apparantely done.

Now, I would never hate on someone for being a lower level than me. I was their level once, so it would be rather hypocritical of me to say something like ‘Oh, you’re only Level 20? Haha, you suck at the game!’.

The officer is refusing to give me the name of the person making the allegations, but I have my suspicions as to who it was. Of course, I have no proof of this, so I won’t mention their name.

As for ‘doing it in Trade’, that is also complete bullshit.

Again, no proof = no comment.

‘People aren’t dicks for no reason’? Sorry, but I beg to differ.

I think I make a valid point. In my opinion, hypocrisy is just pointless. It makes you seem like a complete and total cunt sometimes.

AimForTheBrain says: I was looking over Geo’s shoulder while he had this conversation. I know for a fact that this officer has known him for a lot longer than the prick making these allegations. So surely that would be a good enough reason to disbelieve them?

GeodesicDragon says: The conversation ended here and the officer went offline. However, I doubt I’ve heard the last of this. By posting this story, I think I’ll only make things worse. But I don’t care. I’ve given my side of the story, as I am entitled to. I may never know who made these allegations (though I have my suspicions).

I have to say that I am slightly impressed at the lengths taken by this person to discredit me. If they are prepared to do this over a single ganking, I’d hate to see how they’d react if I’d camped their pathetic little self over and over again.

Anyway, this is all I have to say on the matter … for now. As I said, by posting this story, I might make things worse. Then again, I might not.

Either way, I don’t give a fuck.

Lock Up Your Attitude

I obtained a lockbox on my Paladin, so naturally I wanted to get it opened. Sure enough, a Rogue (named Forgh) answered my request for a lockpicker.

However, when it came to the tip, things went downhill rather quickly.

He’s telling me that I will get 30 gold and an item worth 5 or more gold in the box. To me, this implies that he doesn’t like my tip, and that this is a hint for a bigger one. So I decide not to bother.

When I said ‘attitude’, I meant that I didn’t like how he was asking for a bigger tip. If he wanted more gold, all he had to say was ‘thats not a good enough tip’ (or words to that effect). But no, he decided to be smart and try and hint his way to getting more gold out of me.

I don’t mind giving people a bigger tip if they ask, but when they do shit like this, it is my belief that they don’t deserve it. So, I put him on ignore and found someone else to unlock the box for me. Mindful of what had happened with Forgh, I tipped this person 10 gold, my absolute tip maximum.

There’s a lesson to be learned here. If you want something, ask for it. Hinting doesn’t get you anything.

I should point out that Forgh was in the same guild as Boltsmore (AKA Boltsalot). That’s why this is filed under ‘Guild’. I quit said guild after this incident.

Recruit This!

I was on one of my Alliance characters when I received a guild invite out of the blue from a person calling themselves Fareen. Since he didn’t have the decency to talk to me first, I decline the invite and tell him straight.

To stop him sending any more invites, I put him on ignore. That doesn’t stop him logging onto one of his other characters, however.

Given that my comment wasn’t immature, it was truth, I use a macro I have to try and persuade him an addon is blocking his whispers. It doesn’t work.

What a stubborn fool.

So I decide to see this through. Notice that I’ve not quoted him on anything.

If you want to win an argument, simply call the person a loser, wait for them to use a ‘your mum’ joke, then say “Thanks for proving my point.” – when I do it, nine times out of ten it makes the person shut up.

Is that supposed to be a scary face? Because it made me laugh.

I love it when people assume I’ll ‘go emo’ over something. Never fails to make me laugh.

Oh, here comes the scary face again…

It’s been just over a year since this incident, and he’s never got back to me. I guess he’s still thinking … or he admitted defeat. Maybe even both, but I doubt it.
