Wrong Spec…s

I was in a random Well of Eternity group on Navitas. We had just killed Peroth’arn, and he had dropped his gavel. The Warrior of the group, Starget, promptly Need rolled on it, and won (since nobody else Needed).

Starget was in Arms spec, and I had a feeling that he was only rolling Need because he could. So, after calling him a ninja, I look him up on the Armoury.

Well, looks like I was right. Why need on a tanking mace if you have two seperate Arms specs? Someone needs to explain to this guy what the Protection spec is.

Ninjas – don’t you just hate their guts?

Elitists, Elitists Everywhere

I was doing Stonecore on my Rogue, Luxxor, with a random group. After we killed the first boss, a vote kick dialogue appears. The intended ‘kickee’ is one of the other DPS. The reason given was ‘SLACKER’.

The guy was doing 4.5k DPS, which isn’t bad for his class and level (83 Priest IIRC). So, I say ‘No’ to kicking him. Unfortunately, everyone else said ‘Yes’. So he was removed from the group.

I was a bit miffed by this, so I decide to ask how he was possibly slacking.

Considering the fact the hunter was doing over 10,000 DPS, it’s only natural his pet would have contributed to that amount. Clearly these two are yet another pair of elitists who think that everyone should be capable of doing massive DPS at Level 82/83/84 … and even more once they hit 85.

Breeg joined the party to replace the Priest they kicked. He promptly did 3.3k DPS, and stayed there. Way to go, Buniek and Sosickeh. And what’s this about ’4k its like boosting’? A quick Armory check showed me that Buniek’s primary talent is Balance. His DPS was crap at one point, so he has no right to complain.

And he’s only Level 84 – so he should shut up about boosting as well.

By this time, we had killed the second boss. I was quite happy with my 4.6k DPS (considering the fact I’d never levelled a Rogue past 20 until now). Buniek left the party after saying that he “wasn’t gonna boost me”. Proof then, that he’s an elitist.

OK, so Breeg obviously didn’t realise that I was defending his DPS and starts saying that I “scared the healer” with my “complaining”. He wasn’t there for the whole thing, so he should have kept his opinions to himself.

The group fell apart after this. The tank left, then I left.

I hate elitists. They can’t accept the fact that not everyone has been playing the game for as long as they have, and therefore can’t play their class as well as these pricks would expect them to. They also seem to forget that they too were in the same situation as these people at one point in time.

I know I keep going on about this, but it just annoys me so much. Anyway, that’s me done ranting. I’ll go and see what other elitist pricks I can find.

FFS, It Was A Bug!

UPDATE (April 24th 2012): I contacted Blizzard about this, and they told me that Divine Shield drops your aggro when used. This explains why Murozond attacked someone else when I used it. However, the tooltip for Divine Shield doesn’t mention the threat drop. So this post still stands, as that (to me) is still a bug.

I was doing End Time with Holiestcow, and my group was just about to engage Murozond. Before that, however, we had killed the two packs of Infinite Dragonkin in the area. The Hunter of the group, Groxxie, was a Leatherworker, so she kept asking people to loot their kills so she could skin them.

She asked the Mage of the group to loot his kill. Then she said ‘idiot’. By this time, I had started the fight with Murozond. I thought she was referring to the Mage for not looting the body, but just to be sure, I asked…

Oh, she was calling ME an idiot. Why? Because I started the encounter. Nobody told me to wait, so how attacking the boss when everyone was clearly ready makes me an idiot is a mystery.

A while later, we used the Hourglass. Everything was reset. Including, for some reason, Murozond’s hate table. He immediately started attacking the Death Knight in our group, Ferventi, who died.

Naturally, I got the blame.

I don’t know why this happened, but I can confirm that I did indeed have over 200% aggro on the boss. Because the same thing happened again the next time we used the hourglass. This time, Murozond went after Groxxie.

This screenshot proves my point. You can clearly see that Groxxie is the target, yet I have 247% threat. Groxxie didn’t use Distracting Shot, either.

My point is this. When something goes wrong in an instance, people are always quick to blame someone, such as the tank or healer. But in this case, it wasn’t my fault that Ferventi died. It was Blizzard’s.

I looked at a list of Murozond’s abilities, and not one of them mentioned resetting his hate list. So I believe that this is a bug.

Anyway, I hope that Groxxie and Ferventi see this and realise that they both owe me an apology. People really need to learn that not everything that happens is the tank’s fault, or the healer’s. Usually, the person complaining is the one responsible for the wipe, and they’re just trying to dispel blame onto some other poor sod.

If everyone just accepted responsibility for their own actions, this world could be a much better place to live in.

Krozzed Wires

I was healing Halls of Origination on my Shaman when one of the DPS asked to see the DPS meter.

Nothing wrong with that, so I oblige.

Well, at least he’s not bottom of the table (obviously, I don’t count, since I was healing). However, he still decides…

Either he didn’t like his position on the DPS table or something came up that urgently required his attention. Given that he didn’t say ‘g2g’, I’ll assume it was the former.

However, I can’t be sure – which is why this post is filed under both ‘Mini Fail’ and ‘Hardly Idiotic’. I wasn’t sure which category suit this story better.

Spot the Irony

I was on my Shaman (who used to be a Draenei called Boltsalot, but is now an Orc called Boltsmore) and I decided I was sick of healing, so I queued as DPS. Many minutes later, I get a Halls of Origination group.

After we got off the lft (elevator) to fight the last four bosses, I noticed that the tank was using Crusader Aura. Nothing wrong with that – after all, we’d survived so far with it enabled. However, I still think another aura would help, so I ask him to change it to Devotion.

After five minutes, he still hasn’t done it. That’s when the rest of the group start insulting him, especially this Mage:

… I don’t think I need to say any more. This screenshot should be pretty self-explanatory. The tank left after this was said. But given the circumstances … I can’t really blame him.
