New Guild = End Of Blog

I recently changed realms (again) on Navitas. I also changed factions, but that’s not important. What IS important is the fact that for the first time in months, Navitas is in a proper guild, rather than a bank guild.

The leader of this guid (the name of which I am not telling you) is following me (GeodesicDragon) on Twitter. As you know, any updates to this blog also get posted to the IdiotsofWoW account. I then retweet those stories using Geo. So my guild master is bound to see them.

This means I need to watch what I post, for fear of being kicked out (because I feel that anything I post could make the guild look bad). So, it is for this reason, and also because of the lack of updates, that I have decided to end Idiots of Warcraft.

The blog won’t be deleted, oh no. It will remain as a testament to the many idiots I’ve met in my time playing. But there probably won’t be any new updates.

Unless of course my guild master sees this and says “Hey, Geo. You can post whatever the hell you want. It’s fine by me.” Which of course, has a 50/50 chance of happening.

Anyway. It’s been a great few years and I’m honoured that so many of you have read this thing. Thank you for your support, and I hope I can find other ways of entertaining you.

Signing off for what could very well be the last time,

Geo.

We’re Still Here!

You may have noticed the lack of updates lately. As I’ve said before, the realm Aim and I relocated to is much quieter than our old ones, so there’s not many people around who could give us stories.

That said, I do have some screenshots I need to go through, so hopefully I can get a new story up sometime this week.

HOPEFULLY.

Thunderfury Fury Dissolved

The Game Masters got back to me regarding my ticket about Thunderfury. As I said I would, I will now share with you what the GM said.

I was on my Paladin when they got back to me, just in case you’re wondering why the GM called me ‘Holiestcow’ instead of ‘Navitas’. Pity about them changing the achievement. I don’t see how having ‘obtain’ instead of ‘equip’ is a mistake, but OK.

Damn indeed. That’s me a few thousand gold out of pocket. I was hoping the GM would award me the achievement, but they didn’t. :(

I hope they change it. Would mean all my effort wasn’t wasted. Anyway, that’s all the GM had to say on the matter. Here’s hoping they change the achievement in the future.

And You Complained When THEY Did It!

I was in Orgrimmar on Luxxoria when I saw this appear in Trade chat:

Since I have an anti-spam addon, I didn’t see what he was complaining about. Everyone started telling him ‘get BadBoy’ and ‘report it then so you won’t see it’.

However, a few minutes later, this happens:

So he complained about people spamming Trade … then went and spammed himself. What a hypocritical dickhead.

Welcome New Readers!

I’ve noticed a few people have found IoW via this post on the European WoW forums. I would like to take this oppurtunity to welcome you to Idiots of Warcraft. You may not like what you see here, but know that there is nothing stopping me from posting these stories.

I will gladly remove an individual story if the person/people it is about contact me (and, if necessary, apologises). But as for IoW as a whole … only Blizzard can stop me. If they ask me to stop, I’ll stop. If Average Joe Brown asks me to stop, I won’t. Simple as that.

No doubt, you will have an opinion or two about what you read here. By all means, share it with me (and everyone else). You are entitled to an opinion – and you don’t need to register an account to post. But I do have a filter in place to screen out some of the more immature words people use in their comments.

If you are a fan of the site, then I must ask that you let the haters have their say as well. Post your own comments, but don’t be hatin’ on the haters. In the (hopefully unlikely) event that a flame war breaks out in a story’s comment, I will put a stop to it.

Anyway, welcome to the blog. Love it or hate it, IoW is here to stay. I hope to read your compliments and complaints soon!
